After writing my last post I was searching the internet for more inspiration and came across this gorgeous image of space, the colours caught my eye straight away, it's just beautiful!
I began having a play with makeup, trying to get some ideas together. I wasn't too sure how to go from this image to a face design, I didn't want it looking like a 'face paint' but more of a beauty image.
I came up with this design to begin with. I want to make the design brighter, the colours in the original image are bold and bright, whereas my makeup colours are very dull looking. I don't think I like the shape either, my plan at the moment is create this on someone else and see what happens and I can develop my idea from there.
So this afternoon I used my sister to re-create last nights idea. Looking at it, I think it is the shape I have created that I'm not keen on. I need to build the colours up around the eye instead of creating a space for the colours to go in, it was very limiting. I also want to experiment on how to make it bolder. Maybe use baby oil to make the makeup shine?
I want to keep practicing until I am happy with the design and I can then go on to create a strong portfolio piece!
